This week is going to be busy, yet enjoyable. Although it is the last week of classes, this week is going to be fairly laid back. I only have a few things due this week ( paper, worksheet, and readings) and other than that I plan to enjoy my time with people around me. Enjoy Wartburg while I still have it. This may seem like a shock, but I am only here for another year. I have had conversations with people this weekend that made me relieze that I am so close to graduation. Not much separates me from being able to be a full-"grown-up". I can't wait.
This verse has been on my mind lately.. "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 NIV" - so many time we think we can't do something because we are to young, or because we don't have the right skill set. Yet, we can if we just set our mind to it.
While in the middle of my weekly visit to Bartel Nursing home on Saturday, I was visiting with my Grandma, and she stated that she felt alone. I thought to my self, yes, there are time you feel alone. Yes, there are time when you feel hopeless. Can those stop a person though? NO. I talked her though the different ways, and the different people that she had in her life that made her life worth while... and that she wasn't alone in her life. I brought her back to Easter, spent with her family, and the visit her son gave her. Gayle, while under the weather, looked exhausted, I excused myself and told her to get some rest. After I wondered down stairs to fine Amy and her resident. He was so happy to have Amy to visit, and was so willing to tell stories to us while we were visiting him. I discussed with him, like a normal person. We talked about his son, and this grandsons wedding, his wife, and his time in the service. While in the car back to Wartburg.. Amy made a statement.. that has been said to be several times this week. " Kayla, you are going to succeed in Social Work. " I was so excited to hear someone say that.. I was going to do well in something! Amanda had said it a few days earlier as well, when I was talking to her via e-mail. Is life starting to have direction? I hope so.
