Could it be named the weekend of Creepers?
Two weekends ago- I traveled with a good friend of mine to her home in Iowa City, IA. While we were on our way from Waverly, IA to Iowa City we encountered a few creepers. The first will not allow me to look at white SUVs the same ever again. While we were on 380/218 we were about to pass a white SUV. Amanda and I began to discuss how we never look at the people we pass-but notice that they look over at us. So I told her I would look over at the driver. While we were discussing this we had passed him twice, and he had passed up once. As we were passing him for the second time - I decided I would look over and see who this guy was. As I peered over into the on-coming care the gentleman look over at me made eye contact- stuck his tongue out, and wagged his head all around. I then made a comment somethings similar to " I believe this man could be a sex offender!" I then checked to make sure the doors where locked. While passing him for our final time Amanda put her visor in the way of his view into the car. He sped away- and we never some him again.
As if this is not enough- as we were pulling into Iowa City we are setting at an intersection. We hear honking and Amanda rolls down her window. The girls in the next lane over- Yell " Do you know where the mall is?" Amanda gives the directions- and we continue on our way to Amanda's house. As we pull into Amanda's house probably about 2 miles away - this car pulls into the driveway behind us. The stated they didn't want to be a creeper-but they just needed directions to the mall. Oh dear. Amanda started to give them directions and they stated they would not remember. One of the girls pulls out a cell phone and types in the directions. Oh my.
In all honesty we had an amazing weekend in Iowa City. On Friday Night we were able to see down town- and I walked in my first pediatrician park! We went to coffee shop to get Gelato, and went into some different shops- including a bookstore that is inter-nationally recognize! Here are some pictures from that evening.

This was a fountain in the middle of the Pedestrian Park.
This is the coffee shop, Capanna, that we ate Gelato at! AMAZING!
We found these neat mittens at one of the shop called Ragstock.
Finally we stopped at Scheels. :D A store that couldn't make me happier.
Note: Hawkeye Territory
Saturday: This was a day filled with lots of activites. Most of which were around apples. We went to Wilson's Apple Ochard- and enjoyed some time walking the rows of apple trees. While on the tractor to the apple trees, there was river to cross, a flat tire, and a smiley old man. Oh, and one must not forget the children who were afraid of bees, and Amanda's mom almost falling off the trailer. Here are the pictures form the orchard.
Please take note of Amanda's amazing face....
This was the eventful Tractor ride. ;D
Here is the river we crossed while on the tractor. While it may not look that bad...It did slash water on to our feet. ;D
After we went to the apple orchard we meet Amanda's dad at the Hamburg Inn. This is the place, as I told that all the political leader stop at. Amazing food-great company. After leaving the Hamburger inn- we were on our way home and passed by the Hawkeye Staduim. Amanda and I were able to walk right in- and take a few photos of where the Hawkeye play their games. ;D I called it we broke in- really all the gates were open. I will let you decide on this one. ;D
This is the outside....
And the inside..
We ended our evening with some yummy food that the Woodins called Stromboli, and began our attempts at making the best apple turnovers, and apple sauce. We had a good time with many memories we now share. Here is a quick shot of that:
Who gave her the bower of the Bullet?
( according to Amanda-her mom gave her the power)
Probably the same person who gave me the power..
Enjoyable I think so. ;D
We finished our weekend with church, and the Greek festival. I got to try lamb. Yummy!
Plus, I made a new friend along the way. ;D B-dog.
Overall it was great weekend to relax and enjoy some time to just be. The conversations, sites, and hospitality was amazing. Thank you for a great weekend Woodins.
